Area Manager for Financial Support and Integration
Jönköping Municipality is a large employer with hundreds of different job roles. We are growing in line with the municipality's development, with more residents, more housing, and a larger range of services. We are always on the lookout for new talent - employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences, united by the common drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and reside in.
Do you want to lead one of the most significant areas of social services together with engaged employees and continue to develop support for the residents of Jönköping? The Individual and Family Care department is now seeking a strategic and experienced Area Manager for Financial Support and Integration.
Your New Job
As an Area Manager, you report to the Functional Manager and are part of the management team of the Individual and Family Care department. You are responsible for strategic planning, management, and follow-up of the operations, and you have full budget and personnel responsibility.
The assignment involves ensuring lawful authority exercise, sound economic management, and high quality in the operations. You lead through your unit managers and create clarity, structure, and direction in a complex organization. Collaboration with the Labor Market Department (AMA), adult education, and external actors is an important part of the assignment, especially in the work to strengthen the path to self-sufficiency.
A central part of the assignment in the coming years is the implementation of the national activity requirement within financial assistance, which will take effect on July 1, 2026. The municipality has established a special project for the implementation of the activity requirement, with project leaders and project staff from both financial support and AMA. As Area Manager, you will lead the overall work, prioritize efforts, and ensure that the change is integrated into regular operations in a sustainable way.
Your Competence
You have a completed and approved university degree (Bachelor's degree) of at least 180 credits, either as a social worker or within behavioral science, social-oriented education, or another approved and completed education with a university degree that the employer assesses as equivalent.
You have documented experience of managerial roles in politically governed organizations and good knowledge of financial assistance as well as the welfare system's connection to the labor market and integration. Furthermore, you have experience in leading change or implementation work and are accustomed to working with financial management in complex operations. It is an advantage if you have worked within financial support or labor market activities.
You are a confident and clear leader with good analytical skills. You combine a strategic holistic perspective with operational understanding and have the ability to lead in change. You create structure, communicate clearly, and build trusting collaborations both internally and externally.
A driver's license (B) is an advantage.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability!
